Bobik has millions of viewers

Czech 3d commercial "Mnam Mnam Bobik" with simple yet striking animation style has reached almost 12 millions of viewers on youtube. A number which has suprised cg supervisor and co-founder of Tricks, Jakub Mareš. The studio`s range of work covers stylized character animation and commercials/film post-production.

Game render engine for film

It seems games technology is getting again closer to film. This is a a blog about using rendered images from Cryengine for actual movie "Raining Fire".

Mostly discussed is the balance between advantages (speed of render) and disadvantages (getting complex animation into the engine). I guess for the beginning it might do just with environments and take its first share on the market.

UPP - Prague VFX has new website and is hiring

I feel like I`m spamming my own blog today, but there`s lot going on. Prague VFX facility UPP (150+ people) has new website after 100 years :-p And also for the very first time they are advertising specialized disciplines, no "3d artist" as before. Digital Domain and Reliance open studio in London

This seems to be quite recent news as there will be new Digital Domain managed facility in London. It`s owned by Reliance company which will do the same in Mumbai.

The work will cover all postproduction including broadcast, commercials and film. Here is press release from DD:
